Palisades Regeneration and Activation

The Palisades is a partially wooded, undulating area along Lake Forrest Drive. This part of the project will restore 40 acres of land and wildlife habitat above and along the streambanks of Nancy Creek as well as create three community greens totaling 3 acres. These greens will unveil breathtaking, never-before-seen views 40 feet above the park’s historic public golf course.

A beautiful new pedestrian bridge over Nancy Creek and a mile of new, soft nature trails will connect this area to existing jogging trails, thereby enhancing the parks connectivity between Lake Forrest Drive and Powers Ferry Road.

One particularly exciting aspect of this effort is that the Palisades site at Chastain Park has been selected as the gateway that connects PATH 400 to the Atlanta BeltLine, which will further enhance connectivity and recreation opportunities for park patrons.
